WW1 Alf’s Button soldiers good luck charm badge

A scarce original First World War period Good Luck Charm in the form of a gilt button style pin badge, the surround inscribed '1st Battalion Good Luck Regiment', the centre with embossed horseshoe in which the title 'Alf’s Button' rests, Very good condition, complete with original pin fitting, minor age wear.
Diameter 23mm.

'Alf’s Button' would have been purchased by a loved one and given to be worn unofficially behind the collar of the soldiers uniform, in the thought that it would bring 'Good Luck'.
