RNMWS Royal Naval Mine Watching Service lapel badge

A good original post 1952 gilt and enamel lapel badge, the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt London". Very good condition, original buttonhole fitting with no damage to the enamel, gilt fresh.
Height 30mm.

RNMWS was formed in 1952 and manned by civilians who were responsible for spotting mines dropped by enemy aircraft on major waterway, later to become Royal Naval Auxiliary Service R.N.X.S in 1963.
