Church Lads Brigade CLB service medal 1904-5-6-7-8 clasps

A very scarce original early turn of the 20th century 'Church Lads Brigade medal'; gilt example in the form of a Maltese Cross inlaid with blue and white enamel, mounted with the brigades gilt emblem with red cross to the centre, a scarce early feature. Very good condition for age, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, complete with original silk ribbon with additional clasps for 1904, 1905, 1906, 1907, 1908 and suspension bar with original pin fiitings.

Some button badges were issued from 1937 to 1940 as a means of identifying members on a given day. Anyone not wearing one was presumed not a member and approached to join.

WW2 Royal Air Force Pathfinder official aircrew wing pin badge

A rare ORIGINAL Second World War period official pattern 'RAF Pathfinder badge'; gilded brass eagle wing nicely toned and retaining the correct original tube joint pin fitting and flat rolled catch with straight edge. Very good condition.
Wingspan 54mm.

The RAF pathfinder badge was worn above left breast pocket. It was strictly forbidden for aircrew to actually wear this badge when on operations in case they fell into German hands, taken prisoner and identified.

The Queen Mary's Needlework Guild came into being after just a few days into the Great War, when Queen Mary's issued a letter on the 4th August 1914 through the Press, to the Women of the Empire asking that it might be rendered 'To alleviate all distress occasioned by the War!', which was the purpose of the guild to provide comforts and create articles of clothing and surgical equipment as well as other gifts to the troops fighting for King and Country at home and abroad.
