A scarce original very early issue 'General Nursing Council, State Registered Nurse badge', the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1923 and inscribed to the recipient 'L.M.Cole S.R.N. 12100. 16.2.23'. Very good condition, leather supple with colour remaining bright and catch in perfect working order.

The badge was designed by Dame Alicia Lloyd Still in 1925.

A scarce original circa pre 1980 vintage period fine quality 'New York State Registered Nurse badge'; very stylish large pointed shield, embossed with 'Lamp of Maintenance' to the top and 'NYS' to the point, blue enamelled 'RN' across the centre; the reverse impressed 'Sterling' and with pre 1979 New York jewellers details 'Dieges & Clust'. Excellent condition, complete with original single screw bolt and retainer nut also impressed 'Sterling', enamel perfect.

Dieges & Clust were jewellers established in New York in 1898 by Col. Charles J. Dieges.They produced many medals, including the 1904 Olympic Medal, the Eagle Scout medal (from 1916–1920) and the Titanic-Carpathia Medals. The company was sold to Herff Jones in 1980.
