A good original 'The Life Boys die-stamped large brass badge', worn on the blue jersey uniform and produced during the utility restrictions of 1947 to 1954, after which it became an option to the enamelled version, but continued to be worn through to 1966 when the Life Boys came to an end. Very good condition, retaining original horizontal pin fittings.

In 1988 Robertson's and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution together produced a limited edition of 25,000 Golly Lifeboatman badges, complete with certificate each with an individual number and plastic presentation case. From each brooch sold 15p was donated to the RNLI charity.

A good original wartime period 'National Savings Movement silver plated badge' depicting St George killing the dragon with the rousing legend 'Lend to Defend'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fittings.

Established in 1916 as the 'War Saving Campaign' to encourage the lending of personal savings to the government to finance the First World War and continuing into the Second World War as the 'National Savings Movement'. The badge served to distinguish saving committee members and local volunteer collectors.
