A good original circa early issue 'City of London Police Reserve Special Constable lapel badge'; gilt 'City of London Coat of Arms' bearing the Latin motto 'Domine Dirige Nos' (Lord, direct us), within red enamel title circlet; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London' and low issue number '317'. Very good clean condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.
