A scarce original 'Primrose League Champion Banner badge', gilded metal example in the form of a shield inlaid with inlaid with red, white and blue enamel, yellow primrose flower to the center and suspended from a pole by ornate bow strings with tassle ends, the reverse with maker's details "W.O.Lewis B'Ham" and Registered number "Rd196299" a Design and Patent date of 1892. Excellent condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.

A large Victorian period 'Primrose League Decoration of the Grand Star Fourth Grade or Marshals of the Order-M.B.S.'; unmarked star, cut in brilliant silver facets charged with five other rays enamelled red issuing from the centre. The three interior rays are also charged each with a small primrose in enamel; mounted to the centre the gilt Garter inlaid with enamelling, bearing the legend "Imperium Et Libertas" (Empire and liberty), surmounted by an Imperial Crown and central yellow enamel primrose on red enamel background. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings for wearing on the breast, enamel intact, except for the small primrose to the left.

A scarce original Victorian period "Primrose League Knights Imperial badge', unmarked large pattern example in the form of a cross cut in brilliant silver facets, the central Crowned strap bearing the legend "Imperium Et Libertas" (Empire and liberty) with small yellow enamel primrose on patriotic 'Union Flag' background; the reverse with Registered number "Rd196300" a Design and Patent date of 1892 and maker's details "W.O.Lewis Birmm". Contained in original velvet lined fitted leather case with corresponding maker's details to the lid, one half of the catch absent. Very good condition, retaining original slider fitting, enamel intact.

In 1883 Lord Randolph Churchill father of Winston Churchill, Sir Henry Drummond Wolff, Sir Alfred Slade and Sir John Gorst formed this Conservative backed league to promote not only the party also National Patriotism and the unity of the British Empire. The motto of the League became Imperium et Libertas", this taken from the famous speech delivered by Benjamin Disraeli the Earl of Beaconsfield in 1879.

A very attractive Victorian 'Primrose League brooch', open to be worn by all ladies of the League, Dames or Associates. The reversible brooch, the rim in gilt with revolving centre, shows to one face a conventional primrose with "PL' to the centre and surrounded by the motto "Imperium Et Libertas", the reverse being similar but without the monogram, with maker's details to the rim "W.O.Lewis Howard St BIRMm". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, minor nick to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.
