A good original post 1953 early period 'WRNS badge', blue silk cotton embroidered wreath, silvered metal anchor to the centre, red velvet and gold wire Queen's Crown, the reverse with waxed black cotton hessian backing and a pair of additional wires for mounting onto a hat. An extremely rare original First World War period 'Women's Royal Naval Service WRNS officer's hat badge', blue cotton embroidered wreath, silvered metal fouled anchor to the center, surmounted by a red velvet King's Crown, the reverse with black waxed paper over white hessian backing. Very good condition, slight fading to the red velvet crown.
