A scarce original early 20th century 'The Incorporated Society of Trained Masseuses nurses qualification badge'; bronzed oval example, blue enamel title surround, intertwined cypher 'ISTM' to centre on white enamel ground with Latin motto red scroll 'Digna Sequens' (Following worthy things) below; the reverse impressed with maker's details in relief 'Barnard' 'Rd No 655845", inscribed to the recipient 'Sylvia M.Ratcliffe' and impressed with official low issue number '736'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, a little service wear to enamel.

Excellent condition, original pin fittings, enamel perfect and complete with original presentation card box with printed name to front which is now faded.

Harriet Rosa Barbara Gimlette was born around 1875. She died December 1961 in Portsmouth.

A very scarce original First World War period 'The National Association of Trained Masseuses and Masseurs Ltd nurses badge', circular brass example, title to the edge inlaid with blue enamel, the centre depicting the allegorical figure of 'Hygeia' the Goddess of good health, cleanliness and sanitation, on red enamel ground, the reverse inscribed "H.Wakeham 1916". Good condition, retaining original hook fitting with period replacement pin shank, enamel with sevice wear.
