Incorporated Society of Trained Masseuses nurse badge c1900 -1920

A perfect example of an original early 20th century nurses qualification badge 'The Incorporated Society of Trained Masseuses' in original box of issue; bronzed oval example, blue enamel title surround, intertwined initials "ISTM" to centre on white enamel ground with Latin motto red scroll "Digna Sequens" (Following worthy things) below; the reverse with maker's details in relief "Barnard" "Rd No 655845", inscribed to the recipient "H.R.B.Gimlette" and impressed with official issue number "1428". Excellent condition, original pin fittings, enamel perfect and complete with original presentation card box with printed name to front which is now faded.
Height 40mm.

Harriet Rosa Barbara Gimlette was born around 1875. She died December 1961 in Portsmouth.
