A superb quality circa 1935 rare award for the 'Queen Institute of District Nursing'; crowned enamelled 'MR' cypher on silver gilt oval, bearing the legend 'H.M.Queen Mary's Committee with a classical representation of mother and child to the centre, the reverse within the legend 'Queen Institute of District Nursing 1887' a crowned shield bearing 'VRI' cypher to left side, and 'MR'' cypher to right and impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1935 and maker's details 'T&S'. Very good condition, complete with original silk ribbon bow hallmarked silver suspension bar with pin fittings, enamel cypher with minor service wear to right side. Height approx 69mm.
