A scarce original 'Blackpool Aviation Week October 1909 souvenir badge'; gilded brass circular example with white enamel title surround, the centre depicting a biplane and monoplane flying over the skyline of 'Blackpool Tower'; the reverse with unusual maker's details "S.Lyon Junr. Blackpool". Good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel with ding to edge at 6 o'clock position resulting in minor flake. Price reflects.
The first Official Aviation Week was held at Blackpool opening on the 18th October 1909, it had the official backing of the Royal Aero Club and thousands of spectators attended from all over the country.
A scarce original circa 1948 badge from the 'Rallye Aerien Du Cervin Sion Switzerland'; oxidized silver example depicting an embossed mountain scene with aeroplanes flying around slopes; the reverse impressed with maker's details to the pin "Huguenin Locle". Very good condition, retaining original pin fitting, minimal wear.
A scarce original 'Scarborough Aviation Regatta 1914 celluloid tin button' the rim with maker's details "J.H.Potter. Sheffield". Good condition, retaining original pin fittings, minor foxing and rust to reverse.
