A scarce original 'Blackpool Aviation Week October 1909 souvenir badge'; gilded brass circular example with white enamel title surround, the centre depicting a biplane and monoplane flying over the skyline of 'Blackpool Tower'; the reverse with unusual maker's details "S.Lyon Junr. Blackpool". Good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel with ding to edge at 6 o'clock position resulting in minor flake. Price reflects.

The first Official Aviation Week was held at Blackpool opening on the 18th October 1909, it had the official backing of the Royal Aero Club and thousands of spectators attended from all over the country.
