A good original circa 1940's 'Labour Party membership lapel badge', gilded brass example, white enamel title surround, the centre with 'Flaming Torch of Knowledge' over crossed quill and shovel on red enamel ground with 'Liberty' written across the centre; the reverse impressed with unusual maker's details 'J.Dugmore & Sons Quinton Birm' the reverse with registration, design and patent number 'Rd 703980' for the year 1923. Good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel, service wear. Diameter 25mm.

A scarce original circa 1930's 1940's period 'The Labour Party League of Youth membership gilt and enamel badge' depicting two young girls supporting a red flag, the reverse impressed with unusual maker's details in relief "Mingware B'Ham". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt remains bright. Height 34mm. The Labour League of Youth' had 30,000 supporting members In the 1930s. It was closed down in 1954.
