WW1 Peace Dove Calais gilt and enamel badge

A good original circa First World War period 'Peace Dove with wings spread brooch'; beautifully executed large gilt example inlaid with varying light blue shades of enamel, resting on a dark blue scroll 'CALAIS'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no enamel loss, gilt finish remains bright.
Width approx 49mm.
During the First World War Calais served as a vital rear-base, supply port, and medical hub for the British and Allied forces on the Western Front.
