S.S. Duchess of Bedford Canadian Pacific Steamships gilt & enamel picture badge

A rare original early 1930's period 'S.S. Duchess of Bedford hand painted enamel ocean liner picture brooch' depicting the twin funnel Steam Ship within a ornate gilt surround. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or enamel loss, an excellent example.
Size approx 30 x 23mm.
S.S. Duchess of Bedford she was launched on January 24 1928, and christened by the wife of British Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin, at the start of World War II she was requisitioned for use as an armed merchant cruiser and was renamed Empress of France in 1947.
