The Industrial Orthopaedic Society lapel badge

A very scarce original 'The Industrial Orthopaedic Society badge', oval gilt brass blue ename title surround, embossed map of England to centre on plain gilt ground, the reverse impressed with post 1921 makers details 'BIRMINGHAM MEDAL Co'. Very good condition, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Height approx 30mm.
Founded in 1915 as 'The Allies Hospital Benevolent Society' it was renamed 'The Industrial Orthopaedic Society' in 1919 and was located at the Manor House Hospital, North End Road, Golders Green, London, a trade-union-funded medical institution.
