Birmingham City Police 1916 Special Constable Cap Badge

A scarce original First World War period 'Birmingham City Police 1916 Special Constable cap badge'; large die-stamped white metal crowned title strap resting in oak and laurel sprays, the centre bearing the 'City of Birmingham Coat of Arms' all resting on a tri-part scroll 'SPECIAL CONSTABLE 1916'. Very good condition, complete with original two loop fittings and split pin, evidence to reverse of some restoration to 1916 scroll, possible the removal of a issue number.
