Oswestry United Football Club Supporters badge 1893 - 1915

A very rare original pre 1915 period 'Oswestry United Football Club Supporters lapel badge', gilt brass blue enamel title surround, the centre quartered with navy and sky blue enamel colours of the club worn between the years 1907 and 1913; the reverse impressed with unusual maker's details 'SLINGSBY NUNEATON'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fittings, no stress marks or enamel loss.
Diameter approx 26mm.
'Oswestry United Football Club Shropshire' was founded in 1893. In 1914 it was reported that the club had lost five players due to enlistments in First World War. It was dessolved in 1915.
'Oswestry Town Club replaced United as the main club in 1920.
