WW2 ARP Vickers-Armstrongs 1938 hallmarked silver Air Raid Precautions badge

A scarce original early manufactured wartime issue 'Vickers-Armstrongs Air Raid Precautions pin badge', depicting the companies 'VA' monogram surmounted by 'A.R.P.', the reverse impressed with unusual Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1938 (O) and maker's details 'JRG&S' (J.R.Gaunt & Son). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings.
Height approx 31mm.
In 1938 Birmingham hallmarks changed letter on July of each year.
From 1975 all Assay offices standardised and have the same date letter which changes in January.
