RMS Pretoria Castle Union-Castle Ships House Flag Lucky Wishbone Badge

A scarce original circa late 1940's period 'R.M.S. Pretoria Castle scarce souvenir ships pin brooch' in the form of a chromium plated wishbone mounted with a gilt and enamel disc bearing the ship's name and displaying Union-Castle house flag to the centre. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no enamel loss gilt finish remains bright.
Size approx 33 x 22mm.
RMS Pretoria Castle passenger ship was owned by the Union-Castle Line, built by Harland and Wolff at Belfast and launched on 19 August 1947, departing on her maiden voyage in July 1948. In 1953, she was present for the fleet review as part of the Coronation of Elizabeth II.
