A very scarce original circa Second World War period 'Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft Works Inspection Department badge', chromium plated example inlaid with red and green enamel depicting the 'A W' initials and 'W I D' title below; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.GAUNT LONDON'. Good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no enamel loss, minor service wear.
