George Spence Melvin Song Badge by W.Miller

A very scarce original circa 1931 - 1934 period 'George Spence Melvin song badge'; miniature gilt head depicting a portrayal of the pantomine dam, wearing a monocle inscribed 'MELVIN' inlaid with black, white and red enamel; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'W.MILLER 118 BRANSTON ST B'HAM' (1929 to1932). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, minor nick to the enamel scroll.
Height approx 17mm.
There are two version of the Melvin song badge, the other with him wearing a 'Crown'. His well known hit song at the time was 'I'm Happy When I'm Hiking c1931.
