A scarce original 1914 1918 First World War Victory bronze medal from the the town of Brighouse, West Yorkshire, the reverse named to 'PTE. F. WADSWORTH. 11261. H.A.C' the obverse with embossed central scene of the Brighouse Mill within title surround. Very good condition, complete with rare surviving silk ribbon bearing embroidered Coat of Arms of Brighouse with motto 'Labore Et Prudentia' and VICTORY suspension bar with single pin fitting.
Height approx 98mm.
Private Fred Wadsworth at the time of enlistment into the 1st Battalion the Honourable Artillery Company gave his address as 64 Thornehill Road Brighouse. He enlisted in July 1917 and embarked to France in January 1918, where he remained until January 1919. He was awarded the British War Medal & Victory Medal.
