I & R Morley Company ARP Air Raid Precauctions Badge Nottingham

A scarce original Second World War period 'I & R Morley Company ARP Air Raid Precauctions wardens badge'; small octagonal silver plated example bearing 'The Flying Wheel' trademark used from 1926, over red enamel 'A.R.P.' and blue enamel 'MORLEY'. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no enamel loss, minor wear to silver plated finish.
Height approx 21mm.
The company was formed in 1797 they were a firm of hosiery manufacturers of Nottingham, the company's reputation for quality won many customers including became the Royal Family. In 1968 it was taken over by 'Courtaulds'.
