Princess Mary and the Women of the Empire 1914 Comforts Fund Buckingham Palace Letter

An extremely rare First World War Buckingham Palace headed facsimile letter inscribed:
'Gift from Mary R and the Women of the Empire 1914.'
Good condition, crease folds with very minor split.
Following a call to the 'Women of the Empire' to provide knitted garments as Christmas comforts for the troops fighting for King and Country at the front, a few parcels would have been complimented by this rare letter.
