Royal Navy HMS Southampton Ships Crest Anchor Badge

A very scarce original circa Second World War period 'H.M.S. Southampton sweetheart pin brooch'; gilt metal example in the form of a white enamel anchor mounted with the ship's crest depicting an allegorical figure of Justice holding a sword in right hand and scales in the other and rising from a golden castle. Very good almost mint condition, complete with original early feature coiled spring pin fittings, no stress marks or enamel loss, gilt finish remains bright.
Size approx 36 x 26mm.
Fate: Scuttled off Malta 11 January 1941.
