Ariel Motorcycle Company Birmingham advertising badge c.1930's

An exceptionally good original circa 1930's period 'Ariel Motorcycle owner's gilt and enamel promotional lapel badge', depicting a vintage logo in the form of a small black enamel stylized horses head resting within a blue horseshoe inscribed 'Ariel' and the initial 'A'; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'BUTLER B'HAM'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel.
Height approx 17mm.
'Ariel Motorcycle Company' Birmingham was bought by the Birmingham Small Arms Co 'BSA' in 1944.
