A rare original Second World War period 'Hadfields Ltd Sheffield ARP air raid precauctions gilt home front badge'; black enamel title surround 'ARP' to centre on yellow enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel. Diameter approx 29mm.
During the Second World War 'Hadfields Ltd Sheffield' supplied the Aircraft Industry, they manufactured special steels for motor-cars and Colliery and mining requisites, crushing machinery, tramway track work and many other steel and engineering products.
