A scarce original circa mid 20th century 'Royal National Mission To Deep Sea Fishermen pin badge' in the form of a white metal fish inscribed in blue enamel initials 'Y.T.U.' (Young Trawlers Union). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel remains intact. Length approx 39mm.
'The National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen' was founded by Ebenezer Joseph Mather in 1881. It became the 'Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen' in 1896.
