A scarce original circa 1908 to 1920's period 'Lord Mayor Treloar Cripples' Home & College nurses hospital gilt and enamel award badge' the ribbon bearing additional 1922 1923 bar, the reverse embossed with facsimile signature of Queen Alexandra. Good condition, complete with original silk ribbon with small defects and 'Queen Alexandra League of Children' suspension bar with pin fittings, minor defect to the enamel to the edge of TRELGAR, gilt finish remains bright.
Height approx 84mm. The hospital was originally called the Princess Louise Military Hospital and was built for the returning casualties of the Boer War (1899- 1902).
