A scarce original First World War short lived period 'Womens Army Auxiliary Corps cap badge'; die-stamped brass worn by all ranks, bearing the initials of the corps 'WAAC' within a wreath of laurel. Very good condition, complete with original two loop fittings and split pin.
Height approx 47mm.
'Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps' was formed in early 1917. In May 1918 H.M. the Queen became Colonel-in-Chief of the Corps and the name was changed to 'Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps'.
