A scarce original Second World War period 'Royal Navy Volunteer Wireless Reserve badge', red crowned gilt white enamel title surround, the centre bearing winged lightning flash on blue enamel ground, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London'. Very good condition,complete with original buttonhole fitting, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright.
Height approx 24mm.
Volunteer amateur radio operators and enthusiasts mobilised in 1939 becoming an integral part of the Royal Navy.
