A rare original 'Boy Scouts Gilt Cross Gallantry Award', the reverse with maker's details 'Collins London' and inscribed 'A.Hall 27-11-29". Very good condition, complete with original red and blue silk ribbon with suspension bar and pin fittings.
Height approx 84mm.
Patrol Leader Alfred Hall of the Thompson Memorial Troop based in Sunderland was awarded the Scout Gilt Cross for bravery in saving the life of a drowning person of the Old North Pier at Roker, a seaside resort in Sunderland on the 2nd September 1929. He was living at 22 Dundas Street and was presented with his Gilt Cross by the District Commissioner.
