A good original pre First World War period 'Kent Veteran Reserve' large bronze badge, mounted with nickel 'White Horse of Kent' on 'Invicta' scroll to centre, the reverse impressed with unusual maker's details 'Croneen New Bromptom'. Very good condition, complete with original large round pattern buttonhole fitting.

The Veteran Reserve was officially established as part of the Territorial Force Reserve in 1910 by Richard Haldane, Secretary of State for War. The former Commander-in-Chief of the Forces, Lord Roberts, was appointed Colonel-in-Chief, and in August 1911 and the name was changed to National Reserve
