A good original First World War period leather ID Bracelet with ornate coppery brass insert the ends inscribed 'BELGIUM FRANCE S.J.COX. 24187 C.OF E. 10 R.INN.F.'
'24187 Sergeant Sydney J Cox enlisted into the 10th (Derry Volunteers) Bn of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers landing in France with the Battalion on the 5th October 1915. The Battalion was raided at Omagh in September 1914 and joining the 36 (Ulster) Division and saw action on the 1st July the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Surviving the war he was he was placed on the Class Z Reserve'.
