A scarce original First World War period 'National Association of Discharged Sailors and Soldiers brass and enamel badge', the centre depicting a soldier and a sailor shaking hands, the reverse impressed with unusual maker's details 'J.W.Hood & Co Southampton' and Registration '662333' a Registration, Design and Patent number for the early quarter of the year 1918. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel.
Height approx 27mm.
National Association of Discharged Sailors and Soldiers were formed in 1917 for ex-service men and women who had served or had been discharged from service during First World War. They were one of the original four ex-service associations that amalgamated in May 1921 to form The British Legion.
