Boys Life Brigade BLB red cross buttonhole badge 1899 to 1926

A scarce original early 20th Century 'Boys' Life Brigade lapel badge'; small gilt brass 'Lifebuoy' mounted with red enamel cross bearing the letters 'BLB' vertically as well as horizontally; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'W.J.Dingley B'Ham' (William James Dingley Warstone Lane Birmingham.). Very good condition, complete with buttonhole fitting and split, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.
Diameter 22mm.
The 'Boys Life Brigade' was formed in 1899 by the 'National Sunday School Union' they amalgamated with the 'Boys Brigade' on the 1st October 1926.
