1914 -1919 County of Ayr Special Constabulary silver police badge Scotland

A very scarce original end of the First World War period Scottish '1914 -1919 County of Ayr Special Constabulary police lapel badge'; large title circlet, lined shield to voided centre bearing the Ayrshire Coat of Arms (c1890 to 1931) depicting a paschal lamb and two lyres over a saltire; the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1919 and maker's details 'JRG&S' (J.R.Gaunt & Son). Very good condition, complete with buttonhole lapel fitting.
