Very good condition. Size 23 x 25mm. Height approx 53mm.
The 5th Division was a regular Division of the British Army and one of the first to land in France in 1914. In July 1918 Major General John Ponsonby KCB.,CMG,DSO was given command. Lieutenant Colonel G.C.W Gordon-Hall CMG DSO King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry served as a Staff Officer, with the 5th Division. He had seen service in India during the Tirah Expedition and later in South Africa during the Boer War. Lieutenant S. Gore-Browne DSO Royal Artillery is also noted as serving as a Staff Officer during the Great War.
