A scarce original 1940 period 'Switzerlands National Day 1940 celebrations bronze medal badge' bearing an embossed symbolic figure of 'Madonna and Child', with soldiers marching in the background carrying a 'Swiss Flag' and inscribed 'I.VIII. 1940' (01. August 1940); the reverse impressed with maker's details 'HUGUENIN LE LOCLE' on stippled ground, the front signed 'M.J.Huguenin'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings and good patina.
