British Overseas Airways Corporation BOAC Airline officers cap badge

A scarce original early 1940's period 'British Overseas Airways Corporation BOAC large gilt brass cap badge' bearing a griffin on torse to centre within an oak leaf wreath displaced by an astral crown, the reverse with original two loop fittings. Very good condition, complete with original two loop fittings and split pin, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example.
Height 49mm.
British Overseas Airways Corporation was formed in 1939, BOAC and BEA merged in 1974 to form British Airways.
