A scarce original wartime period 'National Service Ernest Lake Ltd Bishop's Stortford officially numbered home front badge'; gilt brass metal example in the form of a white enamel title circlet the top surmounted by a reclining figure of a lion, the letters 'EL' to centre on blue enamel ground; the reverse impressed with official low issue number '8' and maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel, minor service wear.
