A scarce original circa 1942 period 'British Prisoner of War Relatives Association pin badge'; silver plated triangular example, the blue enamel title surround inscribed 'BRITISH P of W R ASSOC.' Very good pristine condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Height aapprox 30mm.

The British Prisoner of War Relatives Association was created in March 1942 as a limited company (later to become a charity) supporting the families of POWs. It undertook a range of tasks from organising Christmas parties for the children of those in captivity to issueing comforts to repatriated servicemen and parcels of such things as cigarettes to POWs. On payment of 12 shillings annual subscription, member became eligible for the POWRA lapel badge.
