A scarce original just prior to the First World War silver and enamel shooting prize medal fob; the reverse inscribed '1913 Won By 'A' Coy 7754.Pte J.Mc.Alonie' and maker's details 'West & Son' Dublin Ireland. Very good condition, no damage to the enamel.
Height with suspension ring 39mm.

Private John McAlonie was a pre war regular who enlisted into the Cameron Highlanders on the 4th January 1907. He landed in France with his regiment on the 14th August 1914. He was reported wounded on the 26th October 1917 and was discharged with the award of the Silver War Badge on the 12th May 1919. His next of kin shown as living in Glasgow.
