A rare original circa 1940's wartime period 'Padmore and Barnes Moccasin Works home front Fire Watcher badge', in the form of a large brass shield bearing the companies Registered logo a Native American Head' surmounted by a scroll 'Moccasin Works' and inscribed 'FIRE WATCHER'; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham.' issue number '1' and the name 'A.GRUNDY'. CONDITION: is with heavy enamel loss to top half, stress and bruises to lower, nevertheless a very interesting wartime issue example, with room for research.
