St Albans Special Constable 1914 police badge

A scarce original circa First World War period 'St Albans Special Constable police badge'; small Crowned gilt 1914 dated title circlet, the centre with raised shield bearing a Saltire with blue enamel between the arms. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example.
