WW1 Durham County Special Constable police reserve badge

A good original First World War pre 1919 period 'Durham County Special Constable Police badge'; Crowned blue enamel four-part title circlet, the centre bearing an embossed blue shield with red cross and rampant lions in each quarter, believed to represent the Coat of Arms from Durham Cathedral; the reverse with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Bolton' (pre 1919) "Reg 638232" and impressed with official issue number '4086'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel. An excellent example.
Height 34mm.
