A rare original First World War period ' Cole Marchent & Morley Ltd Special War Service factory workers badge'; large nickel plated blue enamel title surround, the centre depicting munitions shells and gun in high relief, surmounted by the company 'CM&M' logo in red enamel; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Fattorini & Sons Bradford'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel.
Diameter 30mm.

'Cole, Marchent and Morley Ltd' of Prospect Foundry, Bradford, Yorkshire were Engine Builders for the Tram, Tractor and Mill Industry. During the First World War they turned their hand to making armaments for the military forces.
