A rare original First World War period 'Rawtenstall Borough Defence Corps Lancaster VTC home front badge '; gilt brass fluted oval, bearing blue enamel title surround, the centre depicting a gilt embossed gentleman in civilian clothing, with rifle at the ready, on white enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Bolton' and 'Reg 638232' a registered, design and patent date of 1914. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, gilt finish with minor service wear.
