Womens Voluntary Service WVS armband

A scarce original circa 1943 period still remaining intact 'Womens Voluntary Service armband '; quickly put together stitched grey felt armlet, bearing crowned 'WVS' maroon silk cotton embroidered initials. Very good clean moth-free condition, colour remains bright.
Width approx 84mm.

Introduced in 1943 for non uniformed members and used as a form of identification.
