A rare original Second World War period full sized 'Air Raid Precautions variant pin badge', with additional unknown official issue number 'C 6896' stamped to the front; designed by sculptor 'Eric Gill', made at the Royal Mint and authorised in February 1937, the reverse bearing London silver hallmarks for 1939 and maker's details 'J.C' (Sir John Herbert McCutcheon Craig, Deputy Master and Comptroller of the Royal Mint from 1938). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings.
